Since Transformers arrival to DVD was equivalent to the second coming, it comes as no surprise that people are talking to director Michael Bay again in an attempt to learn some new specifics from the film.
Transformers Sequel Keeps Heart
I keep hearing all this mumbo jumbo that Transformers was all about its 'heart.' While I admire Bay for doing all he can to control himself from blowing up a city, the only heart I saw in the film was some silly humor and almost-too-fun dialogue. Let's be honest, Transformers was about giant robots knocking the crap out of one another. Bay disagrees, and plans to keep whatever 'heart' the first film had in the sequel.
EOnline caught up with Bay and were able to learn a few, minor specifics from the director.
So, where do you go with it? How do you up the stakes?
It's not about upping it. It's about still keeping the heart.
Any new characters coming in?
Oh, yeah…a lot of fun stuff. I keep telling the writers, remember the heart and the magic, remember the heart and the magic. It's not about being bigger.
