Every time I hear the term 'widget' I think of WordPress. I don't want to show exactly how geeky my knowledge of the internet is, but widgets are easy to use side bars that allow one to quickly construct their own content site, aka, blog. I have a gossip blog coming out early December and let me say that widgets are currently all I know. The term widget, however, does not transcend properly into film media. Any time we get a widget for a movie, let's say American Gangster, it does something completely different.
So what is a widget?

Below is the widget for American Gangster. In the case of this film, like many others, the widget offers an embeddable platform to check out media goodies for the film. It's all good, but not quite good enough to offer anything in high-def just yet. But what do you want? It's only a widget!
You can embed the widget above in your MySpace, Facebook or whatever other community you are a part of.
American Gangster opens to theaters on November 2nd.
