We got a couple updates coming in from the exact same report. For those of you hoping that the WGA strike doesn't happen, there does seem to be a flicker of hope. For those of you still campaigning against Daniel Craig as Bond (Why?), you might as well give up now.
Craig in Bondage
MGM chairman and CEO Harry Sloan has popped up only a few days before the expected WGA strike to announce that he feels the writers will continue to make scripts instead of protest signs come November 1st. While we plan to get to all his thoughts, details and ideas in an upcoming report, there was one confession by Sloan that had little to do with writers and a lot to do with Daniel Craig.
While admitting that franchises are "the base of any studio" -- somewhere Warner Bros. is nodding its giant head -- Sloan mentions that MGM has signed Daniel Craig to do four moreJames Bond films.
Craig is currently working on Bond 22 (working title), which is due out November 7th, 2008.
Craig haters were forced into silence when Casino Royale opened to applause. The film's abandonment of silly gadgets made a legitimate, spoof-free spy movie. With more installments we should finally get to see what Bond can do with only his finger...
