Matt Dillon's popularity has begun to soar over the month of October. Cast for a biopic earlier this month, Dillon will join up with Columbus Short to co-star in Screen Gems' heist thriller Armored.
Dillon, Short for Armored
Armored tells the story of an armored car guard (Dillon) who is persuaded by his veteran cohorts to empty the truck of its $10 million. Vacancy helmer Nimrod Antal will direct off a screenplay by James V. Simpson.
Armored will be the second gear of a double shift for Dillon, who is also working with Screen Gems for another heist film, Bone Deep. In Bone Deep he will play a Manhattan detective who is pit against a young crew that specializes in elaborate heists.
Dillon's credits include Crash, for which he got an Oscar nom, You, Me and Dupree and Something About Mary.
Columbus Short, who we last saw in Stomp the Yard, also has another project with Screen Gems titled This Christmas.
Armored is scheduled to enter production before the end of the New Year.
