Roman Polanski
Is Roman Polanski still wanted here in the United States? Yeah, I know he is, but it always cracks me up that one can get busted here and continue a successful career elsewhere.
Fugitive? Director? I guess it depends on where he resides.
Roman Polanski to Direct The Ghost
Making a cameo in Rush Hour 3, Roman Polanski is looking to get back behind the camera for the adaptation of The Ghost, the political thriller by author Robert Harris.
Robert Harris will help Polanski write the screenplay from the book, which was published just last month.
The Ghost centers on a ghostwriter who is hired to complete the memoirs of a former British prime minister. He uncovers secrets that put his own life in jeopardy.
Polanski was working on the big-budget epic Pompeii, but recently scuttled that ship back in September.
"I have been looking for a political thriller to direct for some time, and The Ghost could not be more perfect," Polanski said. "Robert has constructed a novel with such suspense, it is hard to put it down."
Harris noted that most of the story takes place in an oceanfront house during the middle of winter, which he dubbed "classic Polanski territory."
