Sicko
Michael Moore has done it again. Who wants to start a revolution?
Sicko is Michael Moore’s new film which analyzes and completely takes apart the health care situation in America. The state of our medical care is laughed at when he compares it to those in Canada, France and England. We all know that documentaries tend to skew things in favor of the filmmaker but there are things hard to disagree with Michael Moore about.
DVD Review: Sicko
This movie has a ton of humor in it and unlike say Bowling for Columbine, its major theme isn’t seen as dark even though people without healthcare and people having to choose which finger to surgically reattach due to lack of funds is downright disturbing. Michael Moore even does what most conservative Americans would see as sacrilegious. He brings a group of ailing Americans to Cuba and they end up getting treated there for pennies. They received procedures that they have been trying to receive for years in the States.
It is a sobering look at the state of our Health Care system and it’s interesting to note that we are the only Western country without universal healthcare. Shame on us, I say.
And there is a TON of extras, almost too many to list that drives home the point even more forcefully. I dare you to not be wow’d by this film.
