Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
What happened to Michael Bay? It looks like the director has got robots on the brain and couldn't stick with the adaptation of the popular video game Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. Bruckheimer and Disney aren't fazed, however, as they have already made an offer to Mike Newell.
Newell to Direct Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
Mike Newell, who last gave us Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, has been offered the job of director for Sands of Time. Since the popular video game is now six installments strong, Disney is hoping for a major tentpole here -- something Newell has experience with.
Prince of Persia has a script by Jeffrey Nachmanoff and vidgame creator Jordan Mechner. With the WGA Strike still going on, Disney does not plan to rush the production; giving Newell some added time to decide.
Newell most recently directed Love in the Time of Cholera.
