Futurama - Bender's Big Score
Of course the greatest feature of the new Futurama DVD movie is having an all new Futurama adventure with all our favorite characters. However, the creators of the movie still put together a solid package of extras. Perhaps they knew we needed more of a fix than 90 minutes of entertainment could provide.
DVD Review: Futurama - Bender's Big Score
There is a reading of a Futurama comic book by the voice actors, set to a reproduction of the pages. The visuals fall behind the sound but you still get the jokes and it is a brilliant self-referential gag that ties in with the opening of the movie itself.
A spot on mathematics in Futurama is minimally educational, just enough to bring the casual viewer up to speed on the more sophisticated gags but probably way too simple for the geniuses out there. It does teach us how to decipher coded background messages and shows the geeky creators having fun being nerds.
You've got to respect them for including a full 22 minutes of Hypnotoad too. This is basically a one joke gag from the movie that works best when repeated over and over. They've peppered the 22 minutes with every possible twist on the joke you could imagine, though you can find these by scanning through just as easily as sitting patiently through 22 minutes.
