Rene Russo might not be coming back, but Pierce Brosnan is going full steam for The Thomas Crown Affair 2 and now he has a director.
Paul Verhoeven to Direct The Thomas Crown Affair 2
MGM has picked up Paul Verhoeven to direct The Thomas Crown Affair sequel, which currently has the title of 2. Don't get me wrong, I hate long titles, but only adding a number to a sequel is so early '90s.
With Rene Russo on the outs, a new female lead has been created -- Nadia Badri. The role has yet to be cast.
The sequel takes place in Europe and the Middle East and centers on Crown, who becomes entangled in a centuries-old feud and must decide how much he's truly willing to risk for love.
Production on the sequel will begin this January.
Verhoeven's credits include Starship Troopers and Hollow Man.
