Nero has got his general and Kirk has got his dad. Paramount has picked up Chris Hemsworth and Clifton Collins Jr. to join the ever-growing cast of Star Trek.

Hemsworth will play Captain Kirk's father, George Kirk. Collins will play Ayel, the cohort and general to Nero, played by Eric Bana.
The casting has come just in time, with production on Star Trek a week in.
Hemsworth and Collins will join Zachary Quinto, Chris Pine, Simon Pegg, Karl Urban, Bana and Winona Ryder.
Hemsworth recently wrapped The Cache, while Collins Jr. just booked a new gig, Brothers, where he will star opposite Jake Gyllenhaal and Tobey Maguire.
