Hudson Hawk
I have loved and adored Hudson Hawk since it first came out. The idea of a musical action movie was brilliant and the whole thing is a total delight. I've supported the film before it was cool to. I also always knew there was more to it too. Trailers shows scenes that are not in the movie, and there was the novelization, so I've been waiting many, many years for a proper special edition.
DVD Review: Hudson Hawk Special Edition
They have put together a really classy package for this. With the deleted scenes, text cards explain where the scenes go in excised subplots, and even their deletion due do time or pace. It's even wackier and broader than stuff in the movie. Plus, monkeys are always funny. There's more banter with Danny Aiello and character backstories.
Oddly, there's still no line about taping a Mets game without the expressed written consent of Major League Baseball. They include some blue screen footage for some reason, so that's quaint.
There's a feature with Bruce Willis singing with a blues pianist in 2005. This leads to an interview, a solid half hour, so Bruce Willis reflecting on his pet project is awesome. He addresses the critical reception but that's not even as cool as hearing about the previous incarnations of the story.
A featurette on Sandra Bernhardt is fun too. Bernhardt plays all serious and actor-y which is appropriate. There's also the long lost music video which features more of Bruce Willis in character. So I'm very happy.
