Seeing that Seth Rogen can afford to lose a few L-B-Ses, a lot of fans were shocked to learn that the actor was selected to play the Green Hornet.

Catching up with MTV, Rogen promises that he is the man for the role and that we shouldn't worry about movie nerds, as they love complaining anyway.

Seth Rogen Linked to The Green Hornet

What does Rogen think about the 'nerds' that leave comments at AintitCool?

"But nerds love complaining. You go on [the Web site for] Ain't It Cool News, and everybody complains about everything. They could find out Jesus Christ was making a movie with Frank Miller, and they'd say, 'That's a terrible combination!' "

While some might agree with this, it is still somewhat tough to image Rogen fitting into costume. Fortunately for him, the franchise, and us, The Green Hornet won't be your formula comicbook movie.

"Just a few weeks ago, [co-writer Evan Goldberg and I] laid out our outline for the movie to the studio, and before the phone call, Evan and I were like, 'This is not like any superhero movie — they might just hate that,' " Rogen recalled. " 'It's not using any of the normal superhero movie formats. It's not an origin story. It's more like a regular action movie.' [But] they really liked it and told us to go for it."

Seeing that we have been given some cookie-cutter comicbook adaptations the last few years, I'm open to something different. And Rogen ensures audiences not to worry, as he is training for the role.
