Not only is Katt Williams PG-rated in The Perfect Holiday, he plays the opposite of his outspoken stand-up persona. As the meek producer of J. Jizzy (Charlie Murphy)'s albums, his jokes come in trying to placate the difficult star.
Katt Williams Talks The Perfect Holiday
"That's how it was written," said Williams. "I'm not interested in taking anyone else's job when I'm on the set. I don't want to be the director because I'm not the director. The director we had knew what he was doing. The other actors knew what they were doing. For me, it wasn't that type of situation. For me it was I was playing the role that was written and I was just happy to be able to deliver what it was I was supposed to deliver for the role."
Fans will get to see a side of Katt Williams that is still distinct, but not the same thing they see on stage. "It's good for me too because generally it's a different emotion. This one felt different and constantly I was happy because it's a movie now. Before now, it was a job. So it's really wonderful to be able to go to work all day and have a really good day at work and be around some stars and laugh and really feel good about the fact that you're an actor. And then go home and get with your kids, and after all of that time, then to get to actually sit with your kids in the movie theater while you watch the movie. Sometimes I don't get that in some of the projects that I choose to put out but with this one, it was a complete thing for my family so I'm excited about it."
The Williams clan has not seen The Perfect Holiday yet. "We set our stuff up. We're not willy nilly with ours. There's such a big number so we mob. We're talking about eight kids, three nannies, four bodyguards, me. We come to see the movie so we got three hours with us. We plan ours out and it's a big deal for us when I'm not in it."

Williams promises his fans that if they don't like the lighter side of him, he'll be back to doing some hardcore stuff soon. He's just got to do things his own way. "I go to church and feel like he's talking about me specifically, just like most people do. So I don't really care what people think. I'm concerned with giving my fans everything they should have, but personally, I don't care what other people think. I clear things through me and somebody else and that's it. That's the only clearance. So I don't have to justify why I do projects. I do projects because I work for a living and so since I work for a living, I do work. I'm going to work regardless, typecast or not. If I'm playing a pimp and that's all I can play, then I will play 15 pimp roles a year because that's what feeds my baby. So the opportunity to do this just blows it out for me."
The Perfect Holiday opens to theaters on December 12th.
