JewReview has alerted us to an interview they had with scribe David Benioff. Though currently promoting the release of The Kite Runner, Benioff couldn't help but discuss some new elements from X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Though Benioff couldn't give away any story details, he does admit that the film most certainly has a source; but it's a guess on what number in the series.
He wouldn’t go into the story line, but David did say there is one particular plot he’s working on. “I think I’m not allowed to say, but it is a prequel and it’s an origin, but they don’t want me to talk about the specific comic book. The answer is ‘yes, there is’ but they told me not to say.”
While his lips are pretty much sealed there, he does admit to a couple of the recently announced characters.
“Yeah, Silver Fox is one of the big ones; they’ll be announcing the casting on that one in the next couple weeks. And Stryker is in it. But I signed some massive contract at Fox that I’m not allowed to say, so I better shut-up now.”
