LOST Season 3 on DVD

LOST
When the first episode of LOST aired I, like many others, was hooked. Why isn't everything what it seems and what is this island, really? Theories immediately began to soak the internet ranging from my own -- Purgatory -- to ideas of hallucination and military experiments. While one can still only guess who was closest, the show's magic comes from its mystery.
There's a catch: Too much fantastical mystery can be a bad thing, as showcased in Season 2. While the series' production value remained high, Season 2, thanks in part to its extended breaks and multiple repeats, left audiences more confused than ever; even when it tried to answer some of our simplest questions.
Losing a chunk of its audience, Lost was forced to stride forward on wobbly legs with Season 3.
Lost Season 3 on DVD
The third season of LOST can be compared to one big apology letter for Season 2. Scoping into the Others and the island's secrecy/mythology we gain enough information to keep us happy while the show, taking a risk, dives even deeper into the island's (and the characters for that matter) mysterioum. We might still be confused a bit, but at least we're enjoying it again.
As shown in the DVD box set of LOST The Complete Third Season, the acting during this season is some of the best you will ever see on television. It takes only a single character to bring down the production value of a show of this magnitude, but not a single one falters. Be it Josh Holloway, Naveen Andrews, Matthew Fox or Evangeline Lilly, everybody knows their part -- though none of the cast actually knows what the hell is going on when it comes to the plot. Watching the episodes again on DVD, I discovered chill-causing scenes that were so terrifically acted that one can only mouth 'WOW' and forget about catching a breath, because this time there are no commercials.
When it comes to the extras, don't expect to learn any new secrets. Sure, many of the features claim that they have a lot to reveal, but any die hard fan of the show will feel like they are being told details they have already heard before. If you are one of those who love blabbing your mouth while watching television, you may want to check these extras out.
One bonus that all should enjoy, however, is some new, never-before-seen flashbacks. What? You are sick of flashbacks? The show is based on flashbacks, get over it!
If you need any other reason to own Season 3 of LOST on DVD, I will give you two words: Season Finale. If you somehow missed the finale last year, you might have missed one of the greatest episodes to ever air on television. That's right -- ever.
Big claim? Well now you have to see it!
