Terminator
For those of you who, like us, were absolutely thrilled about having Christian Bale join Terminator 4, better get ready for a small bit of disappointment. It turns out that John Connor will rarely be seen in Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins, with the story instead following another (new) character.
Plot Details: Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins
The good people at Chud have posted some plot details for Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins. If you don't want any of the film spoiled for you, then I suggest you don't read on. While we expected to see John Connor become a robot-fighting badass, it turns out that the film will follow another character entirely.
John Connor is not the main character of Terminator 4; that character is someone named Marcus. Marcus was put 'out of commission' before the nuclear holocaust on Judgment Day and he wakes up about 15 years before the future we see in the original Terminator films, which puts the movie at about 2015 or so. Marcus is a bad ass - think along the lines of Riddick - and what he finds is a blasted world filled with horror. Radiation poisoning, starvation, rampant jaywalking - all the things you expect post-apocalypse. There's also John Connor, who is trying to build a utopian society while running the human resistance.
Is a new title character necessary? Tough call, but at least Connor will have a bigger involvement in later installments.
